How does the tooth gem sparkle? Swarovski® is considered to produce the finest precision-cut crystals in the world. Their crystals are polished to the highest standards of quality and sparkle like diamonds. We use genuinely Swarovski® crystals for our Perrysburg Tooth Gems, that are stain resistant and have a flat back platinum surface.

Does the application procedure hurt?

No pain and no numbing! The procedure is similar to placing an orthodontic bracket (braces) on a tooth. There is no drilling involved and the procedure is completely painless.

How long does the application procedure take?

The application procedure should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes.

Will I feel the crystal on my tooth?

Swarovski Crystals are small in diameter. They range in size from 1.8mm, 2.15mm, and 2.65 mm. Initially something on your tooth will feel different, but a few days after the application you will get used to the new feeling.

Are the tooth gems for males or females?

Both! There are many different designs which appeal to everyone. Children under the age of 18 should have parental consent.

How long will the gem stay on my tooth?

A tooth gem applied according to our office on a natural tooth should stay on until you decide to have it removed by your dental professional. This does depend on your oral care at home.

How do I remove the tooth gem when I no longer want it?

Our tooth gem is 100% reversible. If you would like to remove your tooth gem it can be taken off by your dental professional at any time. The tooth will be polished to remove any remaining bonding material.

Will the tooth gem harm my tooth?

When properly placed on a natural tooth, the tooth gem will not damage or harm your tooth in any way. This does depend of your oral care at home.  If you are not properly brushing around the gem, it can increase the risk of decay.

Does the tooth crystal obstruct regular brushing?

No, the presence of the tooth crystal will not make any difference regarding dental hygiene. However, it is recommended not to use an electric tooth brush for the first 24 hours after the gem has been attached.

What if the gem falls off and I swallow it?

Our crystals have no sharp edges. It will basically come out “the natural way.”

Can I still have my teeth cleaned by my dental professional?

Yes. You can, and should still have your teeth cleaned by a dental professional. Our tooth gem will not cause a problem for the hygienist cleaning your teeth. The area underneath the gem is sealed like a filling and will not let in any bacteria. The hygienist can easily polish on top and around the gem.

Pricing

$35 for the gem and application, any additional gems during same appointment are an additional $35 each. Removal of gem is $20 to patients who had gem(s) placed in our office.

30 day guarantee: If gem falls off in first 30 days from application we will replace for free, up to 1 replacement gem.
